Why we built this
Large images slow down websites, fill up phone storage, and get rejected by email and upload forms. Most online compressors solve this by asking you to upload your files to their servers, which means handing your personal photos, documents, and screenshots to a stranger.
We thought that was unnecessary. Modern browsers are powerful enough to compress images on their own, so we built a tool that does exactly that and keeps your files on your device.

How it works
When you select an image, your browser reads it and redraws it using the Canvas API (https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/Canvas_API), a standard technology built into modern browsers. The compressed result is created on your own computer, phone, or tablet, and you download it directly from your browser.
Your images are never uploaded to our servers, and nothing is saved after you close or refresh the page. Because the work happens on your device, speed depends on your device and the size of the image, and it can even work smoothly on a slow connection once the page has loaded.
What we stand for
Privacy first. We don’t ask for your name, email, or an account, and we never see the images you compress.
